Memberships

Sharp solutions require sharp minds. Sandberg stays sharp by being actively involved in the leading organisations in the world of localisation services. We contribute thought leadership to the translation community with a focus on the exchange of knowledge and by having people in key positions in national and international industry associations.

Personal participation on a global and local level is the best way of learning about wider industry developments while also enhancing the value of Sandberg’s product and service. Each member company in these organisations brings their own nuance to the table, and by interacting with them we learn how to be the best Sandberg we can be. One of the sharpest tools in the box.

EUATC

The European Language Industry Association (ELIA) is an organisation that facilitates interaction between companies in the translation industry through events and initiatives relevant to the needs and interests of language service providers based primarily in Europe. Sandberg joined ELIA in 2011 and has been an active participant in their Networking Day events. Our Managing Director, Anu Carnegie-Brown, is a founding member of the ELIA Exchange initiative, set up in 2013 to develop cooperation with academia and to form a framework for internships. The programme aims to bridge the gap between what commercial translation businesses require from their translators and what European translator training currently equips them with.
