Building on our existing certification to the European standard EN 15038, STP was certified to the International Standard ISO 17100 in early 2016.
ISO 17100 provides requirements for the core processes, resources and other aspects necessary for the delivery of a quality translation service by a Translation Service Provider (TSP).
ISO 17100 covers project management processes and workflows, the translation and revision process, client-TSP communications and agreements, handling of materials and information, and requirements for the professional competence, qualifications and continuing professional development of translators, revisers and project managers.
At the core for us is our internal Quality Management System, which structures and guides our operations, and provides a documented framework which the certification is based on.
“Being certified to ISO 17100 is a fantastic badge of quality,” says Raisa McNab, Quality and Training Manager at STP. “It tells our clients and suppliers that STP is a serious, professional translation company that takes pride in its work, and that can demonstrate solid, documented quality processes.” “For our clients, it means that they can rely not only on the quality of the translations we produce, but also on our background workflows and processes. It also means that they can count on our project managers’ skills and training to consistently provide services of the highest standard.”
